I purchased these Fieldsheer Sport pants in 2002, so I've had them for around 8 years. I rode in them for about 40,000 miles, including a total of about 30 track days. Been down a few times. Overall the pants were holding OK, leather did its job. However, what failed me were relatively small, but hugely inconvenient items which make otherwise still usable pants - well, quite unusable.

This is the overall shot of the pants.

And this is the Fieldsheer label inside.

The first failed item is the so often praised YKK zipper. While the zipper itself still works fine, the tab simply broke during a track day a few years ago, so I had to improvise with a piece of wire - while the pants were still on me - I think I did a good job, and have been using this simple piece of wire for a few years.

Another failed item - the waist velcro strap - while the velcro is still in place, it barely holds and unfastens by itself all the time. Seems like the loop part lost lots of loops, and whatever loops were left are not holding as well. Seen in the same picture and in the next one are the failed buttons. I had to sew them back a number of times. Couldn't you guys attach them in such a way that nothing can rip them off?

Another shot of the button - I had to buy a new one and sew it in myself.

Another side of my own sewing job - nothing to be proud of - used regular thread and a needle.

Another failed item - pockets. How could you use such crappy material? I was holding there my keys. After a few years, the pockets developed holes, and I had to sew them up as well as I could. Here is a shot of the front left pocket.

And here is a shot of the front right pocket. Coincidentally, the matching Fieldsheer jacket pockets developed holes as well so I had to sew them up, too.

Fieldsheer always praises itself in quality and innovation. I really would like to hear their comments regarding my experience.
